Megumi Matsumoto delivered a speech at the Accounting & Finance Human Resources Conference 2025

The theme of my talk was “Women and Careers”.
I emphasaized that accounting is important regardless of the career path one chooses.
Understanding accounting reduces fear and fosters wisdom. When you can interpret profit and loss statements and balance sheets, and grasp the meaning behind the numbers, it becomes possible to engage in constructive discussions even during challenging sales periods- for example reviewing variable costs or adjusting inventory. This knowledge can transform a company into an organization that acts decisively and with clear judgment, rather than being driven by doubt and insecurity.
