The Megumi Financial Method™ training conducted in Ama Town, Oki Islands

At the request to teach accounting to the residents of the island, I traveled by plane and ferry from Haneda Airport to conduct a training session on The Megumi Financial Method™ in Ama Town, located in the Oki Islands.
Many of the participants were women, almost all of whom had relocated to the island. A number of them were entrepreneurs, and they listened attentively while working on exercises as I explained how to understand financial statements in an easy-to-grasp way, using the imagery of a pig and a balloon.
Ama Town embraces the concept of “Nai mono wa nai” (What we don’t have). Life on the island is very different from the city, where anything can be obtained easily, but the natural beauty of Ama Town was stunning and overwhelming. Above all, the people are warm and fulfilled, and I drew a great deal of energy and inspiration from the participants.
